What we believe is broken
Most of what gets sold as "AI for your business" today falls into one of two categories. The first is a platform: a genuinely capable tool that asks you to do the integration, the maintenance, and the judgment calls yourself, while a subscription meter runs regardless of whether it's working for you. The second is an agency wrapper around that same platform — someone else's product, resold with a project fee attached, where the actual decisions about how your business should work get made by whoever built the template, not by anyone who has sat with your workflow.
Neither of those is dishonest, exactly. But neither of them is what most businesses actually need, which is a system shaped around how their business runs today, built by someone who understands that business well enough to make the hundred small decisions a real workflow requires, and who is still answerable for it after launch. That gap — between "here is a powerful tool, good luck" and "here is a system that actually fits" — is the reason Calfy exists.
What we do instead
We treat every engagement as a system to be designed, not a product to be installed. That shows up in four ways.
We scope before we build. We don't quote a price on a first call, and we don't hand you a generic package. We spend time understanding the workflow — where it stalls, what it touches, what "working" actually means for your team — and only then write down what we'll build, what it costs, and how long it takes. You see that in writing before any build work starts. Our pricing page explains why we work this way instead of publishing a rate card.
Senior people do the work. The person who scopes your project is the person who understands the trade-offs well enough to build it, not a salesperson who hands you off to a team you never meet. That matters because the decisions that make an AI system trustworthy — what it's allowed to do on its own, what it must confirm first, what it should never touch — aren't the kind of decisions you want made by whoever was free that week.
We stay after launch. A system we build doesn't get handed over and left. We keep it running, watch how it performs against real volume, and tune it as your business changes around it. Our full process walks through what that looks like stage by stage, including what happens after the system goes live.
We say no when the answer is no. Not every workflow needs an AI agent. Sometimes a simpler automation does the job. Sometimes the process itself needs fixing before anything should automate it, because automating a broken workflow just produces the same mistakes faster. We would rather tell you that on a free call than let you find out after an invoice.
Who we build for
We work across several industries and service areas, but the businesses that get the most out of working with us share a pattern rather than a sector: a workflow that's repetitive enough to be worth automating, spread across more than one system, and happening often enough that people have become the bottleneck. If that describes something on your team's plate, it's worth a conversation regardless of what industry you're in.
Who runs Calfy
Calfy was founded by Artur Horimoto, who leads the studio as CEO. Engagements are run by the people who build them, so the person you speak to on the first call is accountable for what gets shipped and for what it does once it is live.
Every page on this site is reviewed before it goes up, and each one carries the date it was last checked. If something here is wrong or out of date, that is on us to fix — raise it on a call and we will correct it.
What we won't claim
We're not going to pad this page with numbers we can't stand behind, client names we haven't been given permission to use, or a founding story dressed up to sound more established than it is. What we can tell you is how we think about the work, because that's the part that actually predicts what it's like to work with us — and it's the part most AI vendors won't show you until after you've signed something.
